
Dr Ed Bateman is an accredited AOA Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in all aspects of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery both Arthroscopic and Reconstructive. After spending his early years on a dairy farm on the South Coast of NSW he embarked on an undergraduate medical degree at Sydney University from 1991-1996.
His resident years were spent at Gosford District Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital . In this time he honed his surgical skills in the areas of Vascular, Plastic Reconstructive, Cardiothoracic and General Surgery.
He was accepted to the Advanced General Surgical Training before making the change to Orthopaedics. Advanced Orthopaedic Training was on the Newcastle Scheme from 2003-2006 where he received the award for first place in the RACS Part II Exam. He has now completed a Fellowship at Royal North Shore Hospital with Prof. David Sonnabend and Dr Jeff Hughes.
